Banner Siege is a Unity prototype in LukeLit/AI-Playground under Hellrogue-ai/Assets: a two-faction control-zone battle with energy-costed unit cards, CPU opponent, and a third-person commander on the map. Gameplay comps are Fort Condor and Clash Royale. It is distinct from GameJam HellRogue.
Banner Siege is the Metal Games store name for the Hellrogue-ai Unity project inside LukeLit/AI-Playground (hyphenated repo — not LukeLit/AIPlayground). Verified gameplay code implements a Fort Condor– and Clash Royale–adjacent hybrid: two FactionControllers with main bases and UnitSpawners; an energy pool that refills and pays UnitStats_SO.unitCost; player HUD card buttons (portrait/name/cost) to select spawnable units; a ControlZone that lerps between bases based on units that have crossed the midfield; CPUPlayer AI that defends or advances; and GameController battle end → ScreenController post-battle winner UI. The player also has a Starter Assets third-person controller on the battlefield. Scenes include Playground and Forest (with NavMesh). Target art references are Starvaders and Dicevaders; current assets remain the prototype's mech/environment packs. Maturity signals: ~8k files under Hellrogue-ai, custom Scripts/Units + UI systems, and playtest Recordings MP4s; commit burst late April–early May 2023. No public productName in committed ProjectSettings; no hosted playable URL found. This is not the GameJam hellrogue roguelike.
